I’m a happy person by nature. But I’ve been the happiest I’ve been since I started writing since my novel came out in August. It’s been exactly one month. Sometimes I wake up and think it’s all a dream and I still have to edit something, stop slacking! Other days I wake and think, Shit, did I double check that one chapter? Did I change such and such? Did I mention blah-blah?

Today, though, I woke and thought: I did it! I published my novel before I turned 30. It has four 5-star reviews! Well, at least as of this date; three on Amazon, one on Goodreads. I have talent and determination and this is exactly what I am going to do the rest of my life. I cannot not write. I need to be a writer. In some way, shape or form. This is the most important thing in my life. I can’t imagine my life without writing, without characters filling my head, whose random thoughts start to become my own.

I am working on the second book in my STILL LIFE series and I’m also developing a science fiction series. In this science fiction novel, there is one character, so very much like me, that he gets cranky when he’s not on the water. He’s irate and downright mean when I am doing something other than being “on the water” or near the water and I love it. I love him (is that weird?) and he loves when I am out on my stand up paddle-board on the ocean or bay.

But as much as I can’t wait to spend more time with him and all the other characters in my head, I have a lot of promoting to do for Still Life In Blood.

Still Life in Blood

Still Life In Blood has sold out twice at one of my local bookstores (Browseabout Books, and I’ve since restocked them), and it’s been accepted to another local bookstore (Biblion, Lewes, DE, they’ll have copies by Thursday, Sept. 12).

My next step will be radio interviews, newspaper and magazine interviews, expanding to more bookstores, and of course, web/social media marketing!

I hope you can all share in my success and take a gander at Still Life In Blood. It’s available in both paperback and as a Kindle book. And the paperback in on sale!
